1st JDRF Training Ride

Stefanie and I completed our first outdoor training ride on May 6th. The 30 mile ride started at the base of the George Washington Bridge, and went about 15 miles out to Piermont where we got a great view of the Hudson and NY city, and looped back around.

It was really exciting to ride with both South Jersey and New York chapters.

The ride started off great, mostly flat at first and then down some very steep hills. We put our breaks to the test and covered some ground with little effort. But as the saying goes, what goes down must come up??? This hill would come back to get us at the end of the ride!

After the ride, we took a quick detour onto the George Washington Bridge for some photo ops! It was supper windy so we did not stay long. Great first ride in the books!
